Big Brother Winner : People will see me in different Avatar

After touring Europe with her musical Miss Bollywood, Shilpa Shetty returns home to work in the Sunny Deol starrer The Man and says people are going to see her in a different avatar in the movie.
"I know what I'm worth. I never expected people back home to start pampering me just because I've got a certain standing in Britain. And I promise you - you'll see a different Shilpa in The Man," Shilpa told IANS in an interview.
The last one year after Celebrity Big Brother has been a roller-coaster ride for Shilpa and she looks back at it with much happiness and affection.
"It has been a time of great experiences. Miss Bollywood was my first experience on stage and also gave me a chance to take Bollywood abroad. It was not just lucrative but also a very creatively satisfying experience," she said.
She admits that she is dating someone, but marriage is not on the cards.
"The good thing is that love happened in my life while all those good things were happening to me professionally. So everything fell into place. I don't want too much speculation on this. The next thing I know they'll be marrying me off."

SRK as poet

This is a first for SRK, who will now be seen as a poet in the film Shaurya. To find out more about it we caught up with director, Samar Khan and he tells us, “SRK was in my first film as well and he is such a great guy as well as a very professional actor...its just a joy working with him.” Besides this he also adds, “SRK as been a constant help to me in my career, its like he’s always there when I need him the most.” “My second film didn’t have Shah Rukh in any role and after the film was done I felt like there was something missing...its like as though that special something is absent. Hence for this film I knew that I just wanted him to be in it. Then came the poem part and I approached him to ask whether he would recite it.”

Success Story of Not so Good Film

Though not excellent, JODHAA AKBAR has still managed to do reasonably well at the box office in it's second week. It was always crucial for this Hrithik-Ash starrer to stay afloat in week two since the first week was just about good and not extra ordinary. Any major fall over its first week's collections would have been catastrophic but UTV and Ashutosh Gowariker can now afford to take it a little easy. In it's second week, JODHAA AKBAR has managed to earn another 14 crores which by no means is great but still decent enough to ensure that the film's performance isn't termed as a crash. Yes, the film has taken less than industry standard of 50% fall (first week of JODHAA AKBAR was close to 25 crores) but still this won't be termed as a great.

Preity Zinta credits Bollywood for IPL venture

Cricket is her current passion but actress Preity Zinta credits Bollywood with giving her the platform to venture into the Indian Premier League.

Zinta is part of the consortium that bought the Mohali franchise in the Twenty20 cricket league for $76 million over a 10-year-period.

"The reason that I have the platform today, the reason that I have reached this far in life is because I had been given an opportunity by the Indian film industry and I'll never forget that," the actress told Reuters at an event on Thursday.

Zinta, who made her acting debut in Mani Ratnam's "Dil Se" in 1998 and later starred in several mushy romances, is also taking up the challenge of starring in arthouse films.

"There was a time when I was doing roles that were so up my sleeves and there was no nervousness any more," she said.

"Last year I took a call and I said for myself, for my growth as an actor, I have to do different things."

Three of Zinta's four films slated for release in 2008 are arthouse projects -- Jahnu Barua's "Har Pall", Deepa Mehta's "Heaven On Earth" and Rituparno Ghosh's "The Last Lear". The only exception is "Heroes", a film in which Zinta stars opposite Salman Khan.

"I really want to attempt things that I haven't attempted in the past ten years," the 33-year-old actress said.
